Moving from Primary
Moving from Primary
At Holloway School we understand how big the move from primary school to secondary can be. At Holloway School we do all we can to make sure primary school pupils and their parents have all the information they need to make the right decision and feel safe and happy in their new school.
Pupils and parents have numerous opportunities to visit the school and find out all they need to know to make an informed decision.
Open mornings and evenings 2012
Morning tours 2012
The school is open for tours every morning at 9.00am from Monday 10th September 2012 right through until half term, Friday 26th October 2012. This is a chance to see the school on a normal working morning and ask any questions. There is no need to book your tour - just turn up on the day. If you cannot make 9.00am then please ring the school to book a time convenient to you.
Open Evening 2012
This year our open evening is on Wednesday 3rd October 2012, 5.00pm - 7.00pm. This evening showcases the school. Families can tour the school, talk to staff and students as well as listen to a presentation by the headteacher.
Meetings and support
Once you have been offered a place at Holloway School we have regular meetings with parents. This includes an information evening and individual intake meetings where all the necessary paperwork is completed. Pupils also attend an induction day where they experience exciting taster lessons and have lunch with us.
Year 6 Summer School
The first week of the holidays is devoted to a summer school specifically for year 6 pupils. This year over 60 pupils registered for this and had a wonderful time participating in a wide range of activities. This included sports, cooking, swimming in the school pool and water sports sessions at Islington Boat Club. Feedback from parents and pupils was extremely positive.
We are confident that new pupils and parents will be satisfied that Holloway School is the first choice for their child.
