World Book Day : Thurs 2nd March

World Book Day is a celebration and is fast-approaching on Thursday 2nd March 2017. To continue to build our positive reading culture, we will be celebrating authors, illustrators, books and most importantly, reading itself throughout the next two weeks.

We will be running a variety of events to celebrate reading;

WBD assemblies (27/2 to 2/3) Years 7-10 - led by our newly appointed Literacy Leaders

£1 Exclusive World Book Day Books vouchers for use in local book shops (27/2 to 3/3)

Students and staff will receive a WBD sticker on entering the school (2/3)

There will be a 5 minute DEAR for Years 7-10 from P1-4 on WBD (2/3), using 'Flash Fiction' booklets

A Book Swap in the Library and Assembly Hall every lunchtime for the whole week (27/2 to 3/3)

'I like reading' badges will be sold in the Library and the monies raised will be donated to the Holloway House Charities (2/3)

'Writes of Passage' Book Review writing competition – open to all students based on the WBD Top 50 books (22/2 to 3/3)

Staff dressing up as characters from books or simply donning a literary reference! (2/3)
